Durham Region’s monthly roaming networking event, Creative Social, takes place this month on Feb. 23 at Station Gallery in Whitby.
Creative Social is an exciting new networking event happening in Durham Region. Held on the last Thursday of every month in rotating local municipalities, the Creative Social aims to connect creative people to discuss opportunities for collaboration and new business in Durham Region.
Presented in partnership with Durham Tourism, Creative Social events are an opportunity for creative-minded people of Durham Region to connect over inspiring key speakers, local food and entertainment, and the common desire to build a richer creative community.
On Thursday, Feb. 23, Creative Social will bring the excitement to Station Gallery, which is located at 1450 Henry St. in Whitby, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Event speakers include Donna Raetsen-Kemp, CEO of Station Gallery, professional photographer Leif Petersen as well as performances by Whitby’s own folk music star Patrick Dorie and contemporary dancer Haley McPherson. Tickets are $10 and include admission, a welcome cocktail and featured food from local restaurants Marca Pizza Pasta Tratorria and Kake Kreations. Tickets are available online and at Station Gallery’s front desk.
“Creative Social aims to feature the already rich pool of creative talent across Durham Region and welcome the curious to get involved,” says Event Coordinator, Dana Jackson. “The music, the speakers, the food, the drink-it’s all here, alongside inspiring stories and opportunities to explore. Creative Social gives creative-minded people in Durham Region the opportunity to enjoy a fun evening out and make new connections which can develop into successful collaborations.”
