Heather Rigby of the Dinner plate Project is looking for volunteers for her large interactive Art Project on September 19th. Heather is looking for participants , volunteers to create the large drawing and others for parking and other participant help.
The Dinner Plate Project
You are invited to participate in a community art project called The Dinner Plate Project on Sept. 19, 2010 at 10 A.M.The purpose of this project is to encourage humanity to support locally grown food through the worldwide circulation of an aerial picture of a large, colorful dinner plate formed by 400 people in a field.This community art project is designed to generate widespread public awareness of the need to Eat locally grown food, Grow local food in a sustainable way, Protect farmland and green spaces, Reduce humanity’s footprint.
We are inviting you to join 399 people to form the symbol of a large dinner plate. Within the plate a text will read, “eat local”. On either side of the plate a knife, fork and spoon will be formed, also by people standing together. As you stand together looking up, a hang glider will fly a photographer over you three times to capture the image that we will circulate worldwide.This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the Local Food Movement. To cover our basic costs you are asked to contribute a minimum $10.00 donation for participating in this creative project. (Larger donations and sponsorship are welcomed.)

Participants should wear a bright and colorful hat and outfit, bring water and a snack. Local produce will be available for sale and there will be live music. Children are welcome to participate although parents must accept full responsib ility for their children while atAmple parking space is available. Important: In the event that you are unable to attend on the day of the event, we ask that you have a back-up person to attend in your place, as each and every person will become an artistic component of The Dinner Plate Project.
