THE ART OF TRANSITION CONNECTING CREATIVE MINDS IN DURHAM REGION

A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
TRANSITIONS
Volume 4

This is the fourth issue of Transitions, and it’s grown into a well-received publication. I know many of you anticipate each new issue. But what about those who have not yet heard of the Art of Transition movement, who stumble upon the latest copy of Transitions in their local coffee shop and think “I want to be a part of this! How can I get involved?”

That’s kind of my story. Taking over as interim editor of Transitions is a daunting task. But as a lifelong resident of Durham with a passion for creativity and culture, I’m thrilled to take it on.

It’s been a year since the inaugural Art of Transition symposium, where creative thinkers came together to connect and brainstorm new ideas for transitioning Durham Region into a new, creative economy.

Transitions builds on that momentum and keeps the transition alive in Durham Region. By profiling innovative thinkers and celebrating our creative economy, we can keep connected and embrace opportunity moving forward.

So if you’re reading this in Isabella’s, Blue Heron Books or any other hub of creativity in your community and thinking, “I want to be a part of this!” …please do! We need you to keep this powerful momentum going. Visit us at www.artoftransition.ca. Connect on social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube. Join us at our events to network with other like-minded folks.

Discover what the Art of Transition means to you and let us know how it’s thriving in your community. Please submit your ideas, events, and articles for the next Transitions by the end of 2010.
